Working with radio communications system integrator Brabourne Ltd, Mitie is in the process of extending the capability of the Mitec centre on behalf of one of their clients. And this will add extra resilience and better business continuity.
The unnamed client operates multiple manufacturing sites across the UK. Brabourne has been upgrading the site radio systems throughout 2019 to the latest digital DMR standard from Motorola. This will introduce a range of new features to improve business continuity at each site and enhance staff safety. In addition, 2020 will see the first sites connected to the Mitec centre benefiting from the TRBOnet despatcher solution..
This will allow Mitec operators at their central location to communicate directly to individual radio users at each site. In addition to direct mobile voice calls with radio users the solution will allow lone worker and man down alarms to be simultaneously presented to the Mitec operators and local emergency response teams. This will ensure the most effective response to an incident.
Guardtour & Route Management
Also the Guardtour and route management module will allow Mitie to track and monitor scheduled tasks on a site by site basis. This will provide an audit trail on behalf of their client.
Moreover TRBOnet allows Mitec operators to track individual radio users, either outdoors using the built in GPS of the Motorola radios, or indoors via the i-beacon locating system. Some of the sites are very large and quickly locating an individual in the event of an emergency is a key requirement.
